Membership in the Dulles Research Institute is available to any scholar with an interest in contributing to the study of sexual abuse and healthy priesthood in the Catholic Church, contingent upon holding a terminal degree in a field relevant to the Institute's mission, and subject to approval by the DRI Board of Directors.

Being a member entitles one to attend the Institute's annual conference at a special members' rate, participate in the conference workgroups, submit paper proposals, and network with other members. In addition, membership also entitles one to get periodic updates on the work of the DRI, receive a digital subscription to the JDRI, and submit articles for publication in the JDRI (subject to peer review and acceptance by the Editorial Board).

In reviewing applications for membership, the Board of Directors considers the applicant's educational background, research interests, and reasons for seeking membership. The membership fee is $125 per year, which will be invoiced upon approval of the membership application by the Board of Directors. Student memberships are available to doctoral candidates in relevant fields for a fee of $65.
